Aparicio Production Center

The production center has an area of 64 sq m including the stockroom, office and the comfort room. The construction began last 4 May 2006 and was finished on 9 June 2006. Through the collaboration of partner agencies, the construction was made possible. The Cottage Industry Technology Center (CITC) alloted a total of P300,000.00 to cover the cost of materials used in the construction of the productio center and four (4) units of Twining Machines. Aparicio ARBs MPC, on the other hand, shared by providing labor expenses of approximately P40,000.00 as its equity for the project. The DTI-Aklan and the Local Government of Ibajay provided technical assistance in the preparation of the project proposal, program of works and other support activities to the construction of the production center.

Originally, the center was named "Aparicio Abaca Twine Production Center" since its main purpose was for the abaca twine project of Aparicio ARBs MPC. However, after the construction, partner agencies identified needs for trainings on Abaca Fiber Classification and Knotting, Sinamay Weaving and Abaca Leaf Sheaths Twisting and Twining. Hence, the Aparicio Production Center will not only safekeep all machines/ equipment but will also be a place for Aparicio ARBs MPC members to carry out their income generating projects, meetings and other activities.

The Inauguration of the Aparicio Production Center was held last 4 August 2006, 9:30AM Brgy. Aparicio, Ibajay, Aklan. It was attended by the stakeholders of the project led by, Brgy. Capt. Eligene Tayco, the coop chairman, Provincial Director Ermelinda Pollentes of DTI, Director Franklin P. Bunoan of CITC, Vice-Mayor Ernesto Sta. Maria of LGU-Ibajay and the staff of USec. Alonzo of the Department of Trade and Industry - Small and Medium Enterprise Development Group (DTI-SMEDG). The program also included the graduation ceremonies and awarding of certificates of the participants of the Basic Skills Training on Sinamay Weaving.
